Locate

Where is it?

Sit comfortably with your knee bent. ST36 is on the front-outside of your lower leg, below the knee. As a rough guide, its level is often around four of your own finger-widths below the lower edge of the kneecap.

Find the firm front edge of your shinbone. Move slightly toward the outside of your leg, off the bone and onto the muscle. ST36 sits in this muscular area.

Finger widths are only an approximate self-location guide. They are not an exact substitute for the standard 3 B-cun measurement.

Trace the front edge of the shinbone upward toward the knee. Around the area where the upper tibia begins to widen, move slightly outward onto the muscle.

Finger widths are an approximate self-location guide, not an exact B-cun conversion.
